On Sunday 17th April I hosted the 3rd of the 'Great Yarmouth Monthly' beach clean events as part of the Sea Shepherd Marine Debris Campaign...
I was joined by 7 volunteers"
We collected 3 bin bags and a plastic milk crate which weighed a total of 13.25kg
The weather was nice and sunny, beautiful day for a beach clean!
There were about 4 disposable BBQs picked up from the beach/dunes. North Norfolk has recently installed a few bins especially for hot disposable BBQs, I think it'd be a great idea for Great Yarmouth too.
It was disappointing to see the #LeaveNothingButYourFootprintOnTheBeach sign I'd put up last month (10th March) had been vandalised! Only recovered the top and bottom parts, the middle section is missing.
The monthly beach cleans at North Denes, Great Yarmouth will be on every last Sunday of the month until August (10am-12pm), apart from April which isn't scheduled and the June beach clean will be on 25th for #WorldSandDunesDay
Check out Sea Shepherd UK events section for upcoming beach clean dates to sign up!
