A special ‘Thank You’ for these goes to Penny & Graham Carpenter, Councillors for Caister North Ward, Great Yarmouth for earmarking their ward budget for local causes to this project!

Further funding has been secured for an additional 2 x beach clean stations at Gorleston-On-Sea!

NOTICE - CAISTER

Unfortunately due to ongoing thefts of litter pickers, the beach clean stations located at Caister may be empty of litter picking equipment.

I have replenished the stock of litter pickers on many occasions and unfortunately the litter pickers are not being returned.

It's taking equipment away from the community and it's costing the cause to replace the stolen litter pickers.

If you're able to make a donation for purchasing replacement litter pickers it'd be very much appreciated.

Thank you!

2 MINUTE BEACH CLEAN STATIONS

CAISTER-ON-SEA - 2X LOCATIONS

The beach clean station locations are at Caister Lifeboat Station and at the beach entrance of Second Avenue.

There are currently only 2 stations between Sea Palling & Lowestoft, so the Great Yarmouth Borough are lacking, but not for much longer!

You may have heard of the organisation that creates these litter picking stations; they’re called ‘The 2 Minute Foundation’. Founded in 2007 by Martin Dorey.

The #2minutebeachclean campaign started in 2013 and there are now over 1000 stations in the UK & Ireland!

These stations are available for Caister beach goers & dog walkers alike to use 24/7!

By situating these stations in the chosen locations, it’ll enable the general public to take part in a #2minutebeachclean and log the litter they find by following the simple instructions illustrated on the board!

Let’s face it, not everyone has a rubbish bag to hand let alone a pair of gloves or litter picker… so if people are given the tools to do something, they are more likely to participate!

The equipment is there to be borrowed and returned after use.

This includes the bags… they’re upcycled from tent fabric, so they’re 100% reusable, just empty the contents collected into the bins available.

There’s even a hand sanitiser dispenser provided on each station to sanitise your hands after your #2minutebeachclean

GORLESTON-ON-SEA - 2X LOCATIONS

The beach clean station locations are along Gorleston beach promenade, one on Lower Esplanade and the other further South along the promenade towards the Gorleston Cliffs Playground & Public Toilets.
