Q & A - CORPORATE BEACH CLEANS

If you have a question relating to the corporate beach clean events in particular, take a look below to see if I've covered it, if not drop me an email, I'll be happy to help!

HOW MANY EMPLOYEES CAN TAKE PART?

I have enough litter pickers for up to 50 employees.
The base fee to host a corporate beach clean is for up to 10 people, get in contact for a quote if you have more than 10 people.

WHAT INFORMATION DO YOU NEED FROM THE COMPANY?

Company Information:

- Company name

- Company address

Event Details:

- Date

- Time

- Location

- How many employees to attend

If you'd prefer for me to suggest a location / time (as tide times could dictate the start time) that's not a problem, just let me know.

I also need a copy of the company's public liability (PL) and employers liability (EL) insurance certificate to submit with the event management plan (EMP) to the land owner / local authority (council).

Although the event will be covered by Norfolk Beach Cleans public liability insurance, the council requires all parties insurance certificates on file, as this is part of their process to approving the event.

HOW LONG IS THE EVENT?

I allocate 2 hours for the beach cleaning activity itself.

I usually arrive at the meeting point to setup the equipment at least 15-30 minutes prior to the agreed start time (traffic dependant).

And depending how large the group is, compiling the rubbish from the reusable sacks into the refuse bags can take up to 30 minutes. However, at this stage the company doesn't need to remain at the meeting point, as this service includes the organisation of waste disposal.

If you'd like a longer beach clean of 3 hours, 4 hours, etc, let me know and I can provide a quote based on your requirements.

WHICH BEACH LOCATIONS DO YOU SUGGEST?

As this is a bespoke event, the location is completely your choice!

I can give my suggestions due to experience of which beaches need the most attention.

Another consideration is tide times - there are certain beaches which are dictated by the tide as to when we can access them (mainly on the North Norfolk coast).

The ideal start time would be 1-2 hours before low tide.

As per the government's guidance on mileage and fuel rates, I charge 45p per mile (there and back) for travel expenses.

As I live in Caister, the mileage/fuel rate would be from/to Caister to/from the chosen beach location.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?

- All equipment required: Litter pickers, bag hoops / reusable bags, protective gloves, hand sanitiser, first aid kit, sharps box/bin.
- Behind the scenes organisation: risk assessment, EMP: event management plan, submission of event notification to the landowner (usually the council / local authority).
- Public liability insurance cover.
- Correct disposal of the rubbish.

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED?

- Lunch (food).
- Water bottles (you're advised to bring your own, preferably a reusable drinks bottles).
- Transport.
- Parking.

HOW MUCH NOTICE DO YOU NEED TO ORGANISE A CORPORATE EVENT?

A minimum of 2-3 weeks' notice.

Once I have all of the information (date, time, location, number of people to attend) I can then start making the relevant plans.

This gives me time to sort out the paperwork (risk assessment and event management plan) and to submit the event notification to the landowner / local authority (council).

DO YOU OFFER A WHOLE DAY FOR A CORPORATE EVENT?

The standard corporate beach clean event I offer is a 2-hour long beach clean.

However, if you want an extended beach clean (i.e. 3 hours or longer), I can quote to suit.

And if you have other activities in mind I am open to suggestions and will quote as such to provide an extended event.

WHAT OTHER CORPORATE EVENT ACTIVITIES DO YOU OFFER?

I've hosted a handful of art workshops, which includes a private workshop for a local organisation.

Creating art using coloured plastics collected from Norfolk beaches.

If you have a suitable space / conference room at your company's premises, I'm able to host an art workshop as a different activity for your staff.

Get in contact for more info and/or a quotation for this service.

HOW FAR ARE YOU ABLE TO TRAVEL TO HOST A BEACH CLEAN?

The furthest location I've hosted a beach clean is Old Hunstanton (4 hour round trip).

As per the government's guidance on mileage / fuel rates, the charge is 45p per mile (there and back).

As I'm based in Caister-On-Sea, the mileage/fuel cost would be from/to Caister-On-Sea to/from the chosen beach location.

To cover travel time, there's an additional charge.

WHAT DO YOU CHARGE?

The base fee for up to 10 people attending for up to 2 hours is £215.

Expenses for mileage/fuel (45p per mile).

Expenses for parking (if applicable), at least 3 hours tariff would apply.

There are additional charges for more than 10 people and for longer than 2 hours, if required.

DO YOU OFFER A DISCOUNT?

Yes, if your company plans on doing regular (monthly or quarterly) corporate beach clean events then a discount is offered on any sequential event up until the end of the year.

WHAT ARE THE PROFITS FROM HOSTING CORPORATE EVENTS USED FOR?
