On Saturday 11th September I hosted a beach clean at Caister beach!
I was joined by 32 volunteers, where we collected a total of 30.75kg...
There were a lot of new faces as well as returning beach cleaners. A few people travelled quite a distance to attend which is very much appreciated for your time and effort!
Thank you to Lucy White (a fellow Sea Shepherd UK volunteer) who helped me consolidate the rubbish from the reusable rubbish sacks into black sacks which GYBC Rangers & Recycling will be collecting later today.
Thank you to the Caister Lifeboat Café for opening today for the volunteers and for Kevin Wood at Caister Parish Council for sorting it for the team.
A new group has been formed called 'Caister Environmental Alliance' which Kevin Wood is spearheading. Volunteers will be needed for various projects that are in the pipeline such as rewilding areas, planting trees, building and putting up bird/owl boxes, etc, so if you're interested in volunteering for other events than beach cleans, go follow their Facebook page to keep updated on these projects.
If you'd like to join in on an upcoming beach clean, check out the events section on the 'Norfolk Beach Cleans' Facebook page for more details...
