On Saturday 12th March, I was joined by 6 volunteers at Caister!
We collected 28.75kg of rubbish plus a plastic crate and guttering, it filled 4 bin bags!
Plus another bag full of recyclables, which by itself weighed 7.5kg (In total: 32 cans, 15 plastic bottles, 17 glass bottles)
I took the rubbish home to sort out as there wasn't as many bags as there usually is. Among the 7 bags was many old pieces of litter... To name a few: an old style Tango can, a Marathon bar (which is now called Snickers) and a Walkers crisp packet from 1986!
Also found was a bulk of the packs what you get through the door from charities asking for clothing donations... Clearly the person paid to distribute them had other ideas of dumping them!!! Waste of plastic, waste of money and the charity hasn't benefited at all from potential donations it's lost out on!
That brings this year's litter total at Caister to 196.5 kg!!
This was the 3rd of the 'Caister Monthly' beach clean events, they'll be on every 2nd Saturday of the month (10am-12pm), although just in case of cancellations; check out Norfolk Beach Cleans for upcoming beach clean dates to sign up!
As always - thank you and well done to everyone involved!
